Things You’ll Do:

This role is positioned within Environment Health & Building which is a business unit within Shire Planning.  Environment Health & Building encompasses Building Regulation, Compliance, Tree Management and Health Regulation.

Reporting to the Coordinator Environmental Health, this position assists to protect and improve community health and protect and enhance the environment within Sutherland Shire.

Your primary responsibility is to conduct regular monitoring of food businesses, beauty salons, and businesses conducting skin penetration, cooling towers, caravan parks, brothels, mortuaries and sewage management systems as well as the investigation and resolution of public health-related issues and assessing the public health components of development applications.

You will also enhance the environment by the investigation and resolution of air, noise and water pollution incidents, proactively undertaking environmental audits of industrial and commercial premises to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and assessing the environmental components of development applications.

Package:  $67,900 to $98,200 gross p.a. + an attraction allowance up to 10% for highly experienced applicants + super + parking sticker. Final total remuneration package is able to be negotiated depending on our need, experience and skills.

Hours of work: Permanent full time, 35 hrs pw, 19 day month (flexitime)
